Thousands Left Without Electricity in South-East Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Severe Weather Systems
Approximately twenty-five thousand households in southeastern Queensland were left without power on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms swept through the state, producing strong winds hitting 109 kilometers per hour.
Substantial Hailstones and Extensive Destruction
Residents witnessed large ice chunks as large as 7cm in some areas. Meteorological experts confirmed that multiple regions across the state had been impacted by large hailstones.

Utility workers were focused on reestablishing energy supply throughout the impacted areas, with approximately seventy teams working to handle the extensive power failures.
Victoria's Weather Woes
Meanwhile, around 1,000 residents in the southern state also experienced power outages after the capital city recorded its heaviest rainfall in a year and a half.
Rescue organizations responded to nearly 600 requests for assistance across the region, mainly for property damage but also for collapsed vegetation and flooding.

- Wyndham region - over 175 calls for assistance
During the peak on yesterday, in excess of 28k energy customers in the state were without power.
Weather Forecast
Moist weather were expected to linger along much of eastern Queensland this week as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.
Tomorrow was forecast to be the most rainy day, with ongoing storm activity expected across different parts of both regions.

Public health experts cautioned that there was an higher risk of weather-related respiratory issues across the countryside regions, specifically given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This alert comes after past events where comparable situations led to substantial respiratory problems in the area.
